Cedarburg Sweeps All Four Divisions at West Bend Debate Invitational
October 14, 2006 – 8:30 pm by: Bill BattermanThe West Bend East and West debate teams hosted the annual West Bend Debate Invitational this Saturday at the combined West Bend High Schools building. Students from 16 schools gathered for competition in Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Novice four-person policy debate as well as Public Forum. In all four divisions, the winning teams hailed from nearby Cedarburg as the Bulldogs swept the top spots and brought home a significant amount of hardware.
In the varsity division, the team of Kevin Glamm, Nathan Nowicki, Alex Pook, and Steve Ward combined for a 5-1 record to best teams from Mukwonago, Marquette, and their teammates from Cedarburg. In JV, the top spot went to the 4-2 team of B.J. Dworak, Andrea Heidtke, Biana Brandoline, and Nor Ehlers; on the basis of strength-of-opposition points, the Bulldogs beat out West Bend, Nathan Hale, and a second Cedarburg quartet. In novice, Kat Moore, Tyler Schultz, Lizzy Salvaygio, and Amanda Barang won five while losing one to top Marquette and their teammates from Cedarburg. The Bulldogs also claimed the top two spots in the Public Forum division, but names are not available as of press time. Congratulations to Cedarburg and their coach, Peg Erbes!

Nice job Cedarburg, once again.
Nick Kuznacic and Alaina Sullivan took first in the PF disvison.
I believe Veronica Wheaton and her partner took second place home.
Also in the novice division, it is Amanda Barany, not Barang and Andrew Heidtke, not Andrea-he is a guy.
Good luck to everyone rest of the year.
