WFD Encourages you to VOTE!

Posted on February 19, 2008 – 10:19 am by: Nick Bubb

Today is Primary Elections Day in Wisconsin. While there are no other contests on this year’s selection, the Presidential Primary is more than important enough to get out and vote. Below is a quick bit of information about how to vote.

Any one who is at least 18 years old and has lived in Wisconsin for ten days is eligible to vote. You do not have to be registered to vote before you go to the polls - we have same day voter registration in Wisconsin (something very few states have). Two things are needed to vote: a photo ID and some proof of residence. A proof of residence can come in multiple forms: a recent bill or bank statement (phone, gas, credit card, etc) that contains your address or may be as simple as a registered voter saying you are his or her neighbor. If you address on your driver’s license is the same as the address you are registering to, then you do not need any additional information.

Even if you’ve changed addresses, its really easy to vote. I’ve changed addresses four times since moving to Madison six years ago, and I’ve never had a problem with changing my address on the day of the election.

If you did vote, feel free to share with who you voted for and why. After all, this is a site devoted to communication and discussion.
