Southern WI NFL Policy Debate Qualifying Tournament Results
February 8, 2009 – 12:24 am by: Bill BattermanThe Southern Wisconsin District of the National Forensic League held its national qualifying tournament in policy debate this Saturday at Marquette University High School in Milwaukee. Ten teams from four schools competed in a double-elimination tournament to earn the right to attend NFL Nationals in Birmingham, AL. After five debates, the results are as follows:
Qualifier #1: Marquette – Joe Balistreri & Michael Hoffmann (5-0)
Qualifier #2: Marquette – Ben Benson & Noah Charles (4-1)
Alternate #1: Nicolet – Brittany Coats & Abby Loxton (3-2)
Alternate #2: Nicolet – Gabriella Friedman & Keith Lewis (3-2)
Alternate #3: Marquette – Paras Bansal & Tyler Thur (2-2)
In round four, Marquette BH advanced over Marquette BC and Nicolet FL defeated Marquette BT while Nicolet CL received a bye.
In round five, Marquette BH (neg) defeated Nicolet FL (2-1: *Scheffler, Tim; Schneider, Chuck; Voss, Jon) and Marquette BC (neg) defeated Nicolet CL (2-1: Degeneffe, Kristin; Degeneffe, Megan; *Henning, David).
