WFCA 40th Anniversary Bash!

The Wisconsin Forensic Coaches’ Association is having its 40th anniversary this spring. The organization is having a large event to celebrate this milestone. On the behalf of the WFCA, here are the details of the celebration:

The Event
Come join us for a weekend celebrating 40 years of the WFCA at the Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells. All former officers, WFCA Hall of Fame members, and Hintz Memorial Award winners are being invited to join current coaches for socializing and a special anniversary program featuring stories, pictures, performances of past champions and door prizes.

Accommodations
Two types of accommodations are available with a special rate for WFCA attendees:

$109 Tower Accommodations:
Connected to the meeting rooms, indoor waterpark and dining areas. These guestrooms have two queen beds and include a snack refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, hair dryer, iron and ironing board.

$99 Fairway Villas:
Two queen beds and a pull out sofa sleeper accommodating up to 6 people. Complete with kitchenette and living area. Overlooking the fairway.

Rooms DO include passes to the new indoor waterpark “Lost Rios”. For hotel reservations call Chula Vista Resort at 800-388-4782 (ask for WFCA rate).

Friday, April 30
4 pm – Early event check-in
7 pm – Evening social

Saturday, May 1
Morning – on your own (waterpark time)
12:00 – Meeting check-in
12:30 – Spring Meeting
Afternoon – hotel check-in for those arriving Saturday
Evening – Dinner and Anniversary Program
5 pm – Cash bar available
6 pm – Dinner
7 pm – Program

Sunday, May 2
8 am Breakfast at Chula Vista’s Market

2010-2011 Policy Debate Topic Announced

The National Federation of High School Associations has released the policy debate topic for 2010-2011. Military Deployments was chosen. The wording of the resolution is listed below.

Military Deployments was chosen as the topic with 24 of the 37 votes cast on the topic.

Voting for Military Depoyments were: California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawai’i, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Wyoming, The NCFL, The NFL, and The NDCA. Voting for China were: Arizona, Arkansas, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, Ohio, Pennslyvannia, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Washington.

The wording of the resolution is:

Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially reduce its military and/or police presence in one or more of the following: South Korea, Japan, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Iraq, Turkey
